So much to do! We spent the entire day here

I didn’t realize how big Prague Castle is. The complex is huge! We arrived in the morning and stayed until the afternoon! I basically only knew about the Lobkowicz art gallery. But ultimately, we also visited St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George Basilica, and Golden Lane. Each is super interesting on its own. Golden Lane was so cute to walk around, and my husband liked the two churches' architecture.

No waiting in line!

The ticket comes with an audio guide, so you can easily learn about the sights. For example, I had no idea the castle was the world's largest! Plus, the skip-the-line part was easy to navigate. The quick security checks meant we entered immediately. It gave us enough time to see everything. 10/10, and definitely a must-see in Prague.

DESCRIPTION

Prague Castle Skip-the-line Ticket

You’ll collect your tickets at the Lobkowicz Palace cash desk; the exact address is Jiřská 3, 119 00 Prague. Make sure to have your QR code or printed voucher ready. Either one will be exchanged for a printed Prague Castle admission ticket.

View beautiful works of art at Lobkowicz Palace

Enter Prague Castle and visit Lobkowicz Palace with 22 galleries full of stunning artwork. You'll see famous paintings like "Haymaking" by Pieter Brueghel the Elder. "London: The River Thames on Lord Mayor’s Day" by Antonio Canaletto is also beautiful. Finally, make sure you find "Doña Margarita Teresa, Infanta of Spain" by Diego Velázquez. The art gallery also hosts musical pieces. For example, manuscripts of Beethoven’s Third (Eroica), Fourth, and Fifth symphonies. Another must-see is Mozart’s handwritten re-orchestration of Handel’s "Messiah". While browsing, turn on your audio guide. You will learn not only about the history of Prague Castle but also the history of the artwork. To fully experience the beauty of this remarkable palace, consider attending a Lobkowicz Palace concert later - an intimate classical performance set right in the heart of this historic setting.

Admire the castle’s religious centers

Your Prague Castle Skip-the-Line ticket provides access to churches, including St. Vitus Cathedral. The beautiful Gothic cathedral is the country's largest and most important church. Many Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors are buried there. For example, Ladislas the Posthumous, Maximilian II, Charles IV, and his four wives.

While visiting the Czech palace, St. George Basilica is another must-see. It's one of the castle's oldest churches, founded in 920. You'll love its Romanesque architecture and striking red facade. Make sure to catch the bas-relief representing St. George slaying the dragon!

Discover treasures like the Old Royal Palace and Golden Lane

As part of your ticket to the Prague Castle, you can also explore the Old Royal Palace and Golden Lane. Dating back to the 12th century, the Old Royal Palace was the original seat of the Czech kingdom. Make sure to visit its Vladislav Hall. It used to be used for inaugurations, banquets, receptions, and even tournaments! Another part of Prague Castle’s extraordinary complex is Golden Lane. The street is a quaint alleyway full of bright and colorfully-painted cottages. However, it’s named ‘golden’ for the goldsmiths that used to live there. It’s a beautiful stroll, and there are also plenty of souvenir shops for you to browse.

Leave full of memories

Exit Prague Castle with beautiful memories of the complex’s sights. After all that sightseeing, why not eat and relax? U Mlynáře is close and serves delicious traditional Czech food. So does the nearby Pivo & Basilico Caffe Restaurant.
